THE TOPHAM SILVER CHALLENGE CUP

To be held for one year and presented to the school

gaining the highest mark in the Action Song class.

'Oak' Spennithorne/Middleham Federation.

 

THE MISS KATHLEEN SAYER CHALLENGE CUP

To be held for one year and presented to the competitor under 12yrs

gaining the highest mark in any one music class.

For 12yrs and over gaining highest mark in any one music class.

THE MISS WENDY THOMPSON CHALLENGE CUP

To be held for one year and will be presented to the competitor gaining the highest mark in the Junior Section

for Solo Pianoforte, excluding Novice and Sight Reading.  Sam Anderson.

THE DALES TROPHY

Donated by Barbara Roocroft will be awarded for one year

to a Primary School with less than 100 pupils fo the highest mark in Class 204.

THE EWEN McDOUGALL CUP

To be held for one year and presented to the competitor in any woodwind class

at the adjudicator's recommendation. Jonty Ledbetter.

THE DIANA HARTLEY TROPHY 

To be held for one year and will be presented to the most promising young musician under 18yrs

along with a prize of £50.00 donated by Diana.  Magdalena Holdsworth and Grace Longstaff.

​

THE EILEEN HANKINSON MEMORIAL CUP

to be held for one year and presented to the competitor gaining the highest marks

in Class 234. Jeremy Ledbetter.

 

THE RICHMOND PLATE

to be held for one year and awarded to the Primary School with less than 200 pupils

gaining the highest mark in the Junior Section Unison Song.  'Oak' Spennithorne/Midleham Federation.

THE MARY GORE AND FRED CLARKSON MEMORIAL BURSARY

to be awarded to the most promising Primary School Choir.  

Masham CE Primary School.

​

THE MADGE STEPHENSON CHALLENGE CUP

for Classes 213 & 214, Traditional Folk Song,

was awarded to Masham CE Primary School.

​

THE MILNER & HALLOWS CUP

for a competitor in any strings class awarded

at the adjudicator's recommendation to Jeremy Ledbetter.

THE MISS RUTH HARRISON CHALLENGE CUP

To be held for one year and will be presented to the competitor gaining the

highest mark for Sight Reading in the Junior Section.  Maxwell Simpson.

THE DOROTHY WILLMOTT AWARD - £20 cheque

Will be awarded to the girl or boy with the highest marks in Class 4.

A POETRY BOOK FROM THE WONKY TREE BOOKSHOP

Will be awarded for Class 87, Year 6 and Under.

THE SUE WILLIAMSON TROPHY

To be held for one year and will be presented to the competitor gaining the highest mark

for Poem Own Composition in the Junior Section.  Nina Wilmington.

 

THE MARY GORE AND FRED CLARKSON MEMORIAL BURSARY

Book Tokens will be awarded to the entrants with the highest marks in Class 5.

For Classes 66-68 was awarded to Maxwell Simpson.

 

 

SENIOR MUSIC AWARDS

 

THE LUCIEN ORDE-POWLETT CUP - Class 315

Given by the West Yorkshire Building Society, to be held for one year

and presented to the competitor  who gains the highest marks

in the Senior Solo Music Classes. Diana Hartley.

THE LADY WILSON TODD CUP

To be held for one year and presented to the Choir gaining the highest marks.

The Military WAGS Choir.

THE THWAITES AWARD

to be made, at the adjudicator’s recommendation

for the most promising choir

East Witton Male Voice Choir.

To be held for one year and will be awarded to the competitor

gaining the highest mark in the Light Operatic Solo Voice class. Ken Dalton.

 

DR AND MRS ADAMSON MEMORIAL TROPHY

To be held for one year and will be awarded to the competitor

gaining the highest mark in the Male Solo Voice class 315. David Halliday.

To be held for one year and will be presented to the competitor  

gaining the highest marks in the Solo Speech Classes. Donovan Leaman.

THE JOAN CAIRNS MEMORIAL CUP - CLASS 109

To be held for one year and will be awarded to the competitor gaining the highest mark

in the Humorous Verse Class. Andrea Widdison.
